Dylan & Stephanie first reached out to me to capture their intimate wedding celebrations with their closest family. But, not long into chatting we knew that a 2-day backcountry adventure wedding in Jackson Hole was the best way to allow these two to celebrate with those they love, and celebrate their sense of wild adventure all in one!
Then, 2020 happened. It became clear that bringing their families wasn’t the safest option, so we decided to make their 2-day backcountry adventure wedding full of the things they love… and still allow us to capture epic lighting both nights!
So, we met to start our first hike… and these two were so awesome. Dylan is from Maine (my first Mainers since I moved west!) which was fun to chat about. I also have to mention how incredibly kind they were about pandemic and safety– keeping their buffs up the whole hike and never getting remotely close to me (or Pete the next day!) without being masked. We all know this wasn’t how any of us saw this year going down, but knowing that your hearts still put respect and safety of others above all just shows me what pure, incredible people you are, with hearts of gold. And, it shows me and Pete that your love is so much bigger than any obstacle, because these two days were perfect, and the emotions were so huge.
Anyway… a ways in we found a perfect mossy woods spot to change. Dylan had already seen Stephanie’s dress, but his reaction when he saw her in it was priceless. We adventured the rest of the evening, catching perfect light, watching beavers and so much more.
We met up again the next evening to get these two ready for the official commitment. We headed up to the spot, met with Mayor Pete, and adventured around, GOT THESE TWO MARRIED! (and I may or may not have shed a few tears during their incredible vows), and enjoyed a perfect dinner picnic to celebrate!
Here’s to making the most out of a crazy year, and doing it was such grace. This love will endure anything!! <3
Thanks to Chloe, Lindsey, Pete, Punyan Saheb Djahaver, The Huff House, and these two amazing humans for making these days what they were!
