Well, 2020 started off fairly normally and then man… did we all see a lot of change. Aside from some hard moments, there have been many silver linings for which I am so grateful. Getting the chance to capture Aimee & Balaji for their Bridger-Teton Engagement (With a view of the Tetons of course!) was certainly one of them.
Balaji and Aimee were clients of mine planning to get married today, in a small elopement ceremony. After a lot of stress and hard decisions, they decided to make this years trip an engagement and return next summer to have a bigger wedding with family & friends. It wasn’t an easy change, but these two are absolutely amazing humans.
After the longest break I’ve taken as an artist in at least 3 years, I was admittedly a tiny bit nervous to get back into the swing of things, especially with all that is still happening. I seriously could not have asked for a better couple & pupper to start me back into my summer 2020 season! As doctors, they were so incredibly understanding and supportive of helping be sure I stayed safe by taking all the precautions we could (which I am SO grateful for!), and just made this day with Sable so FUN! Also, look at Sable– is she not the funniest, cutest thing?
A Bridger-Teton engagement is often at one of the more popular spots in the area, but I’m coming to love finding the little secret spots that surprise us with their beauty the absolute most. There are so many places of the beaten path that are so full of wonders, I am so grateful for folks willing to take an adventure with me & trust that I wouldn’t lead them to a spot that’s not spectacular. I think there’s also something a little extra special about knowing that spot was yours for that moment, and to have the pressure of casual spectators removed (which, comes with the territory for the more popular spots!).
Aimee & Balaji, you are both amazing and I cannot wait to celebrate with you next summer!! Let the fun begin!
