Wow, these two people were SO MUCH FUN! Susie and Tyler decided to bring their closest family and friends to one of their favorite places in the world, Grand Teton National Park. They decided to have an adventure elopement, but share with everyone in a Cascade Canyon intimate wedding ceremony.
The pandemic has put so many peoples’ lives in total chaos, and changed so much. We are all learning so much about making lemonade from lemons, and learning to focus on the truly most important things in our lives.
Susie & Tyler are such a classic example of two people who have made the absolute best of a hard situation, and you can see that the little things necessary to keep everyone safe this season made absolutely no difference in the beauty and joy of this day, with those they love. They were supposed to be my first couple of the summer season 2020, but due to the shutdown, we pushed them back to July– and I think it worked out the exact way it was supposed to.
I have been so grateful that every single client I’ve had in the past two months have been 100% willing to do what is necessary to keep those they love, themselves, and their vendors safe. As a community here in Jackson, we don’t have the resources to handle a major outbreak, and we are so dependent on the cooperation of those visiting us to respect our community– these two didn’t even pause. I have been so nervous reaching out to folks and reminding them of our local laws and making these asks of them (though, a few moments of masks is just a tiny little remembrance of the depth of this love– willing to endure anything. This IS a part of our 2020 story, and I think that’s something we can celebrate!), so that we can be safe, not worried about our own families, and be sure we are available and healthy for each of our couples. Susie and Tyler took all the stress of that off me, being absolutely adamant they and their families would do everything in their power to keep me safe– and I can’t thank them ever quite enough.
It goes to show that these two people have the best hearts, and how lucky am I that I was able to join them and their love in the mountains?!
Susie and Tyler grew up together, friends in their high school group and over the years, realized they had something even more specialize. It was truly such a treat to see their best friends for years and years there with them celebrating– people who had watched this relationship bloom over the years.
I’m already SO looking forward to their next visit!! Here’s to a lifetime of love!
Thanks to our vendors– Jackson Hole Lodge, BHLDN, Mayor Pete, My Glendale Florist and their family and friends!
