When Nick reached out to me a few weeks ago, and he told me about what he had in mind, I knew that even though I was currently wrapping up my winter season, I had to fit this incredible dog sledding proposal into my final weeks. We got a mix of spring and winter weather in the day all in one (a photographer’s dream) and mostly, we got to be outside, with 120 pups and all loved every second.
Having done a LOT of proposals, I had a few ideas up my sleeve about how to best pull this off so that Alli wouldn’t have a clue. Luckily, it all came together perfectly with the help of the amazing team at Continental Divide Dog Sledding and Alli was blown away to not only be dog sledding, but also around so many wonderful dogs (avid dog lovers like I am!) and her best friend and now fiancé!
With about 120 dogs up there, the excitement level when they find out some will be picked to run that day, as well as on every pause on trail was unparalleled. You pretty much have to yell everything in order to hear one another over the pups, which is the BEST. It is such an honor to see such pure joy- both in these pups and in Nick and Alli. Definitely nailed the “best day ever”, and I can’t imagine the adventures they will share ahead.
I will do this all-day, errr day. Dog sledding proposal plans forever, please and thanks!
