Kauai Destination Wedding

these two. a Kauai destination wedding. nothing short of perfect.

i could probably write for days about this wedding. not only did two of my best friends get hitched, but they have a story that puts everyone in a little love spell. they grew up on the same island off the coast of maine, living in a community of fishermen. liked each other before age 10. started dating at 15, and were married 6 years later. Sam is a lobsterman, amelia is his sternwoman.  they tied a fisherman’s knot at their ceremony, and shared the meaning of true love with friends and family.

 

i was so lucky to be with them on this day, because i love these two so, so much. amelia has undoubtedly taught me more than i have taught her about having a heart of gold. sam reminds us all of the beauty of working so hard for someone else, and what gentle kindness can do for the world.
