Well, if 2020 has brought some hard times, it’s also brought some really, really good ones. And, these two were one of those good things in my year, 10000x times over. This beautiful (and I mean, look at those sunset shots!) western Wyoming wedding was everything one could ever imagine a wedding day to be.
Andrea and Eric reached out a few months ago, and by chance, my larger Saturday weddings had mostly canceled allowing us the chance to squeeze them in! I’ve had SUCH a great time getting to know them both, and even more so the day-of.
We met at the trailhead, and then hiked into the wild together. Andrea is SO awesome (please move here asap!) and we got her changed into wedding dress and chacos, met Eric for a first look as the light filtered through the trees, and then adventured around the lake for shots (including Andrea and Eric in the lake itself!). Wedding days should be about who YOU are… not what everyone else wants of you. It’s a day to celebrate YOU, the love YOU built, and the beauty that comes with that. I love dirt-omebred dresses, dresses that swim, dresses that tell stories of days well lived. And, I love couples with attitudes that allow them to do all these things.
After we hiked, we headed to one of my favorite places in the entire world, and shared in a marriage ceremony with their parents and a trusted mentor and spiritual guide. The light was absolute magic, and I was reminded of why I love the west. The mountains are amazing, but so are open lands and fields, wide open skies, and prairies. There’s something about simple landscapes and glowing light that make my heart feel endlessly happy.
After the ceremony, we danced in the light as it faded behind the peaks, and shared in new friendships and endless love. Can’t wait to see where their love and life takes them! Here’s to one heck of a beautiful western Wyoming wedding.
