Emily & Tommy like to consider themselves “liberal cowboys” (is this not the best term ever? I love it) and spend their free time adventuring, camping, rock climbing, and just about anything else they are offered. So, it seemed only fitting for them to have a Grand Teton National Park Adventure Engagement Session full of candid moments and free spirits. And, well, that’s exactly what we did.
We danced under a setting sun, chased one another under a rising full moon & laughed full-belly giggles until our sides hurt.
I usually squeeze a few obligatory cheese-at-the-camera formal shots into sessions just to make sure we have something for everyone (moms and dads often love those more traditional posed shots). Much to my pleasure, when I mentioned this at the beginning of our shoot, Emily and Tommy looked at one another, shrugged their shoulders and said “nah, we’re here for you to do what you do best, and those don’t really fit who we are anyway.” That’s exactly what these sessions (and by that I really mean ANY session) should be– a reflection of exactly who you are, a capsule in time of a moment in your lives.
Before we even met in person, I knew Emily was my kinda-gal (we had a wonderful texting conversation about the wonders of Birkenstocks) full of hilarious gifs and snarky comments. So, it was only fitting that I loved these two EVEN MORE in person & made some sweet new friends just across the valley. I’m so grateful I had the chance to capture this moment in their lives, and I KNOW the brewery shindig they have in mind for their wedding next year is going to be EPIC!
