Only a few days before, Akhila had reached out to me to see if there was any possibility of doing a Jackson Hole maternity session while visiting on their babymoon. As those who know me well know, I generally book at least 6 months out on sessions, and 1-2 years for weddings– so last-minute sessions are always a shot in the dark. But… with a little rearranging I was able to sneak these two into my week and man, I’m so glad I did.
We welcomed in a new year and a new decade with a giant snowy hug– but seriously– full-on blizzard conditions and yet these two braved it all. We made some magic snowy art and saved these last moments of Akhila and Rahul together before a little one joins their family.
I had a ton of fun playing with the snow, blurred motions and creating pieces that felt like a mix of their story and art– one of my favorite things. Now, I know that no couple will have any reason to skip a session due to weather– this was about as wild as it gets and it was worth every. single. second.
I am so thankful these new friends came into my world with a new year, and so thankful they were willing to brave the conditions to remember these moments. Sometimes, a little adversity with the weather makes for the best memories.
